Michigan pitcher Willie Weiss was ejected from the Wolverines’ semifinal clash with Iowa on Sunday. Weiss, a U-M reliever, was tossed in the bottom of the 5th inning after umpires examined his glove, finding a foreign sticky substance. Someone from the Hawkeyes’ dugout reportedly alerted the umpiring crew in Omaha.

According to the in-game stats, Weiss only faced 1 batter in his relief appearance. Michigan starter Connor O’Halloran went 4 innings, allowing an unearned run on 3 hits. Cameron Weston replaced Weiss, with a 2-2 count, recording all 3 outs while maintaining U-M’s 4-1 lead to end the 5th inning.

The winner of the Michigan-Iowa game will take on Rutgers later Sunday for the B1G Tournament championship.
