Despite a loss in the College Football Playoff semifinals that ended Michigan’s dreams of a national championship, the Wolverines are still ending the 2022 season on a high note.

On Tuesday, the final AP Rankings were released for the 2022 season. Michigan landed in the No. 3 spot on the list. It marks the first time Michigan has been ranked in the top 3 in back-to-back seasons since 1947-1948.

The Wolverines were also ranked No. 3 in last year’s final list, behind Georgia and Alabama.

For the second year in a row, Michigan took down rivals Ohio State, giving the Wolverines a perfect 12-0 finish to the regular season. Michigan capped off the regular season with a B1G Championship, taking down Purdue 43-22. The Wolverines uncharacteristically stumbled in the Fiesta Bowl against TCU, losing 51-45 and ending their CFP run.

A final top 3 ranking isn’t the only good news for the Wolverines. It was announced this week that superstar Blake Corum will be returning to the Michigan locker room next season. It appears as though 2023 is shaping up to be a great year for the Wolverines.
