Ruiz was a regular starter during his career at Michigan, appearing in 36 total games with 31 starts. He’s been an All-B1G selection and has been tabbed as a late-first-round prospect since the end of the 2019 college football season. He started in all 26 games over the last two years for the Wolverines.

New Orleans is a franchise that has had plenty of offensive success under head coach Sean Payton. The organization received some good news earlier this offseason as well, when quarterback Drew Brees announced he’d be returning for at least one more season with the Saints.

By taking Ruiz with the first-round pick, New Orleans is looking to add some depth along its offensive line. The Saints landed a player who brings plenty of starting experience to the franchise.
