The battle for the Paul Bunyan Trophy used to be a one-sided rivalry in favor of Michigan. Within the past several years, however, Michigan State has made an intense rivalry every season.

Michigan State has won 9 of the last 13 matchups against Michigan including last year’s 27-24 win in Ann Arbor. Michigan, however, has won 3 of the last 5 matchups.

Next Saturday will set up another highly anticipated game in the rivalry as it will be a battle of undefeated teams in Ann Arbor between No. 6 Michigan and No. 9 Michigan State. The hype has grown since before this past Saturday when Michigan State entered the bye-week. Michigan begins their process to take on their rivals as they are hyped as well.

Michigan quarterback Cade McNamara is more than hyped for the game against their rivals as he feels the Wolverines are confident enough to beat the Spartans.

This year’s game will carry significant weight in the B1G East race and the College Football Playoff picture. It should be a really fun game in East Lansing.

Kickoff is set for noon ET with the game airing on FOX.
