Five-star quarterback and future Michigan gunslinger J.J. McCarthy has announced that he’ll be finishing his high school football career in Bradenton, Florida.

J.J. McCarthy, who committed to Michigan in May 2019, announced on Twitter that he will be heading to IMG Academy to complete his high school football career. The prestigious institution in Florida is known for producing a plethora of elite college football players on a yearly basis.

“Due to the uncertainty of fall sports in the state of Illinois, I will be finishing my education at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL beginning the summer of 2020,” McCarthy wrote in his post.

McCarthy is a native of La Grange Park, Illinois and previously attended Nazareth Academy. He’s ranked as the No. 15 overall prospect in the 2021 recruiting class and the second-best pro-style quarterback of the cycle.

In the last two years of his high school career at Nazareth Academy, McCarthy completed 371-of-555 pass attempts for 6,268 yards and 73 touchdowns.
