Michigan quarterback JJ McCarthy has been dealing with a shoulder injury that goes back to before the 2021 Orange Bowl. He gave an update on how far along his recovery on Thursday per Angelique S. Chengelis of The Detroit News.
McCarthy originally injured his shoulder in last season’s meeting with Georgia. He had 516 yards passing with 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in 2021. McCarthy stated his right shoulder is not fully healthy, but he is throwing and is ready to compete for the starting job.
Here’s what else McCarthy had to say about it:
“I’m gonna do whatever I can to be the best quarterback, best teammate, best player I can be, and whatever happens, happens” said McCarthy.
