No. 2 Michigan got their first taste of the College Football Playoff semifinals and they also got their first taste of disappointment in the playoff. Michigan was dominated by No. 3 Georgia 34-11 in the Orange Bowl.

This loss will leave a bad taste in the mouth of Michigan players, coaches, and Wolverine Nation. Some of the players look to use this loss as a motivator moving forward with their program.

One of those players is sophomore Blake Corum, who promised fans by saying they will be back in the playoff.

After the game, Corum, junior defensive end Mike Morris, freshman running back Donovan Edwards, quarterback J.J. McCarthy, and freshman wide receiver Andreal Anthony all stayed on the field to watch Georgia’s trophy presentation. This was a position that these players wanted to be in.

This is the same approach that Buffalo Bills wide receiver and former Maryland Terrapin Stefon Diggs did as he watched the Kansas City Chiefs receive their trophy after beating his Buffalo team in the AFC Championship this past season.
