Michigan RB coach Mike Hart has major compliment for Donovan Edwards’ pass-catching ability

No. 6 Michigan is undefeated heading into Week 8 and a key factor for the future is the play of versatile freshman running back Donovan Edwards.
Michigan running backs coach Mike Hart recently gave a major compliment to Edwards’ versatility, claiming that he could be a wide receiver as well.
“He could play receiver if he wanted to” — Mike Hart on Donovan Edwards when asked about his hands.

On the ground, Edwards has amassed 121 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 7.1 yards per carry. As a receiver, Edwards has one catch for three yards.
Michigan will host Northwestern on Oct. 23 (12 p.m. EST), with the game televised on FOX. This will mark the first game for the George Jewett Trophy, which is the first rivalry game trophy bestowed for an African-American student athlete in FBS history.
Michigan leads the all-time series 58-15-2 vs. Northwestern. Michigan is on a six-game winning streak vs. Northwestern in the series.
