Michigan has received the official Notice of Allegations (NOA) from the NCAA related to the sign-stealing scandal that rocked the sport last fall, per multiple reports.

A draft of the NOA was published by ESPN earlier this summer. That draft, not considered to be official, including numerous allegations involving former Michigan coaches as well as current head coach Sherrone Moore.

The draft of the NOA also focuses on Connor Stalions, the former Michigan staffer who was the alleged leader of Michigan’s sign-stealing scheme.

Yahoo!’s Dan Wetzel was amongst those who reported Sunday that Michigan has received the official NOA from the NCAA. Wetzel also reports that there’s believed to be changes from the draft that ESPN published.

As Wetzel also notes, this development comes just days before Netflix is set to release a documentary featuring Stalions’ side of the story. That documentary will be available for Netflix subscribers on Aug. 27.

As for what comes next, that’s a bit complicated. Michigan will now have 90 days to respond to the NCAA’s Notice of Allegations. Then the NCAA will have a period of time to respond to Michigan’s response. Time extensions are also possible throughout this process, making it unlikely that there will be any official resolution to this case before the end of the 2024 season.

It’s worth noting that 90 days from Aug. 25 is Saturday, Nov. 23. That’s exactly 1 week before Michigan will face Ohio State in Columbus to close out the 2024 regular season.

Michigan will open the 2024 season against Fresno State on Aug. 31.
