Michigan recruit Joey Velazquez hasn’t stepped onto campus in Ann Arbor yet, but fans of the maize and blue are already going to love him. And the Ohio State faithful won’t share that same feeling.

Velazquez is a member of the Wolverines’ 2019 recruiting class, a 3-star defensive back out of Columbus, Ohio. Yes, he chose to spend his college days in Ann Arbor over staying at home for the next four years.

That gives Velazquez a unique perspective for the rivalry between the two schools. And to him, “The Game” is personal. He’s already sent a pretty clear message to the Buckeyes.

“There’s one game on my calendar that I have circled already because that game, to me, is kind of personal,” Velazquez told Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider. “I don’t think anybody is going to get any gold pants any time soon.”

Velazquez is referencing the gold pants pin Ohio State players receive every time they beat Michigan.

After the dominance Ohio State has had in the rivalry game, Michigan fans will gladly welcome that kind of confidence and attitude in Ann Arbor.
