Michigan is hitting the practice field for the spring session, and the Wolverines have released the details for this year’s Maize & Blue Spring Game.

The spring practices are vitally important and will lead into April with the spring game set for Saturday, April 2 inside Michigan Stadium. Players will begin filtering to the field at 11:30 am EST for warmups with gates opening at 11 am.

The scrimmage will be free for fans to attend. Coverage for the spring game will air on BTN at 12 pm EST. Brandon Gaudin will cover the play-by-play duties of the broadcast with former Wolverine TE Jake Butt joining Gaudin for color commentary.

One of the ongoing stories through the spring is the QB competition between Cade McNamara and J.J. McCarthy. Both played in 2021, but it was McNamara who served as the starter and saw the lion’s share of the snaps for the B1G Champions. It will be interesting to see if the former 5-star prospect in McCarthy is able to carve out a bigger role for 2022.
