It’s been quite the wild ride for Olivier Nkamhoua in the transfer portal.

Nkamhoua, one of the top players in the transfer portal, was thought to be down to either West Virginia or Baylor a few days ago. Now, according to a report from Joe Tipton, Michigan is right back in the thick of things. The Wolverines were initially favorites to land Nkamhoua should he choose to stay in college basketball rather than turn pro.

Of course, turning pro has been Nkamhoua’s No. 1 option for some time now. Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes told reporters when he first entered the portal that was the case.

Nkamhoua is dominant on the court when he wants to be. Known more for his defensive abilities and potential to drop 20+ any given game, he ran into several questions concerning his consistency.

His tournament run at Tennessee is a perfect example of this. He combined to score just 14 points in games against Louisiana and FAU but dropped a game-high 27 in a thrilling Round of 32 win over Duke.
