Michigan is “in the mix” to land former North Carolina guard Caleb Love, according to a report.

On3’s Joe Tipton reported that Love is also considering Missouri, amongst other schools.

Love had a remarkable start to his collegiate career at Carolina before opting to enter the portal. He helped lead the Tar Heels all the way to the National Championship Game last season and hit a key 3-pointer to defeat Duke in the Final Four.

However, Love and the rest of UNC took a step back this past season. The Tar Heels failed to make the NCAA Tournament after beginning the year as preseason No. 1.

Love’s struggles were a part of why Carolina never got going this season. He shot just 37.8% from the floor and made only 29.9% of his 3-pointers despite attempting 7.4 per game.

Michigan is the process of rebuilding its back court. Kobe Bufkin and Jett Howard are both expected to move on this offseason after scoring in double figures a year ago.

Love is originally from St. Louis, Missouri. He has 2 years of eligibility remaining.
