Michigan reportedly losing starter on offense to transfer portal
Michigan will not get the chance to defend its national title this season in Sherrone Moore’s first season leading the program. Now, a key starter on offense is reportedly going to be looking toward the transfer portal.
According to Matt Zenitz with CBS Sports, starting wide receiver Tyler Morris is expected the enter the transfer portal. Morris was originally a 4-star prospect and the 133rd overall player in the 2022 recruiting class.

This past season, Morris was Michigan’s leading wide receiver with 23 catches for 248 yards and 2 touchdowns. (Star tight end Colston Loveland was the team’s leading pass-catcher on the season.)
Morris came up big in last year’s Rose Bowl win over Alabama, recording 2 catches for 45 yards and a key touchdown. He has 39 total catches for 470 yards and 3 touchdowns in his career.
It’s no secret the passing attack lagged behind for the Wolverines this season with a lot of that tied to lackluster quarterback play. However, Loveland is likely heading off to the NFL Draft, and replacing both Loveland and Morris will be crucial for that unit to bounce back in 2025.
