Michigan is expected to start Davis Warren at quarterback on Saturday, according to a report.
That news comes from 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, who notes that Warren hasn’t seen the field for the Wolverines since Week 3:
Davis Warren is currently expected to start at quarterback for Michigan vs. Michigan State tomorrow, sources tell @CBSSports/@247Sports.

Warren was benched following Week 3 after a poor start to the 2024 season. However, it appears the Wolverines are turning back to their original starter after Alex Orji and Jack Tuttle failed to take Michigan’s offense to the next level. Last week, Tuttle threw for just 208 yards and 1 interception on 32 pass attempts in a loss to Illinois.
Warren struggled with decision-making during his brief stint as the starter earlier this season. He amassed 6 interceptions over a span of just 72 pass attempts while also averaging just over 6 yards per attempt.
Michigan has deployed a run-heavy attack so far in 2024. Kalel Mullings and Donovan Edwards have both been productive, although it’s Mullings who is leading the way with 676 yards and 7 touchdowns so far this season. Michigan will likely continue to lean on that talented backfield through this QB change on Saturday against rival Michigan State.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
