Michigan scores go-ahead touchdown over Alabama after hard-fought drive
Michigan leads Alabama 13-7 following a late 2nd half touchdown by wide receiver Tyler Morris. Incredibly, it was Morris’ first touchdown of his collegiate career.
And it was a wild drive for Michigan to get to this point. The Wolverines used some trickeration early in the possession on a play that was very nearly a disaster for Jim Harbaugh’s crew.
McCarthy had to haul in a one-handed catch before collecting and firing a dot to Blake Corum despite facing intense pressure from an Alabama defender. Check it out below:

And here’s the go-ahead score. Unfortunately for Michigan, the Wolverines missed the ensuing extra point, making it only a 6-point lead in a game where every point has had to be earned.

A 13-7 lead is monumentally different from a 14-7 one in a game such as this, with so much on the line. Michigan’s special teams has cost them so far, as a muffed punt earlier in the game gave Alabama its first score of the game.
