When Darrius Clemons announced his top 3 schools on Aug. 1, Michigan wasn’t in the picture.

When Clemons announced his commitment on Wednesday, it was a Michigan hat showing up in all the pictures. The wideout is heading to Ann Arbor.

Clemons, a 4-star prospect from Portland, Oregon, had his pick of Power 5 programs but chose the Wolverines over Penn State, Auburn, Miami, and the nearby Ducks. He’s the 2nd 4-star wideout to join the UM class, pairing up with Illinois native Tyler Morris.

A 6-foot-3, 205-pounder, Clemons is the No. 1 player in the state of Oregon for the 2022 cycle. he’s also a top-150 player overall and the No. 19 prospect at his position, per the 247 Composite.

Brandon Huffman, 247’s national recruiting editor, had this to say about the wideout:

“Has terrific body control and ability to adjust to all passes, both low and high, with strong hands able to catch everything in traffic. Polished route runner with ability to catch passes in tight spaces. Tough over the middle. Consistently gets separation. Projects as multi-year Power 5 starter and projects as 2nd-day pick.”

He played in all 3 phases of the game for his high school, seeing time at corner and serving as the team’s punt return man. You can view his highlight tape below, via Hudl:
