Michigan is 7-0 and riding high after dispatching Indiana with a 52-7 win in Week 7. That game gives the Wolverines a bit of history with back-to-back games of 50+ points for the first time since the 1970s.
Overall, the Wolverines have reached an incredible milestone of dominance for the AP Poll era. For those unaware, the AP Poll began all the way back in 1936.
According to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, the Wolverines are the first time in the AP Poll era to score at least 30 points while allowing 10 or fewer points in the first 7 games of the season. The most points given up by the Wolverines was 10 on the road to Minnesota while the fewest points scored was 30 in the season opener vs. East Carolina.

Here is how Michigan’s record looks to begin the season:
- 30-3, W vs. East Carolina
- 35-7, W vs. UNLV
- 31-6, W vs. Bowling Green
- 31-7, W vs. Rutgers
- 45-7, W at Nebraska
- 52-10, W at Minnesota
- 52-7, W vs. Indiana
Looking forward, the schedule is favorable for the program up into November. The Wolverines face in-state rival Michigan State in East Lansing next weekend, but the Spartans have a host of issues this season.
After that, Michigan will get a bye on Oct. 28 before hitting a November stretch that will include games against Penn State and Ohio State. We’ll see how far the Wolverines can push this stretch of dominance.
