Michigan signee, UA All-America Game MVP honors fallen teammate in postgame interview
The 2022 Under Amour All-America Game highlighted some of the best high school prospects in the nation. One of them is Michigan signee and defensive lineman Derrick Moore. Moore was named MVP of the game after accounting for 2 sacks and multiple pressures.
After the game, Moore was interviewed and he took the chance to honor his former teammate Aaron Wilson, who died of cancer. Wilson was a 4-star recruit, who received 18 offers to play collegiate football in the 2022 recruiting class including Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Miami, Penn State, and Texas.
“I’m actually out here playing for him, I’m not playing for myself,” Moore explained about his performance in the game. “I’m actually playing for him and the Wilson family, just keeping his legacy continued.”

Moore will be playing for Michigan when he enrolls in 2022. Moore is rated as a 4-star recruit in the class of 2022, according to 247Sports Composite. He is rated as the 79th best overall player in the 2022 class, the 12th best defensive linemen, and the second-best prospect in the state of Maryland.
