It’s always fun to have bragging rights over a rival program. And on St. Patrick’s Day, one Michigan staffer used the Wolverines’ 2019 win over Notre Dame to troll the Fighting Irish.

Wishing everyone a Happy St. Patrick’s Day on Wednesday, Michigan defensive analyst Joe Staab tweeted out the final score of the 2019 matchup between U-M and ND. The Wolverines defeated the Irish 45-14 in the most recent meeting between the two programs.

As you can imagine, plenty of Michigan fans enjoyed the troll job from Staab.

The two historic programs used to play on an annual basis, a tradition that stopped after the 2014 season. But in 2018 and 2019, the schools agreed to a home-and-home series.

Notre Dame won the first meeting 24-17 in South Bend and Michigan claimed the rematch 45-14 in Ann Arbor.

Michigan does own all-time bragging rights in the rivalry series. The two teams have played a total of 43 times, with the Wolverines owning a 25-17-1 advantage.
