Michigan starting guard DeVante’ Jones has declared for the 2022 NBA Draft. He made his announcement with a post on Twitter on Saturday afternoon.
Jones transferred to Michigan after spending the three previous seasons at Coastal Carolina. He spent just one year in Ann Arbor, helping lead the Wolverines to another Sweet 16 appearance.

Because of NCAA rules, Jones would be permitted to retain his college eligibility for the 2022-23 season if he withdraws by the deadline and doesn’t sign with an agent. If he remains in the draft past June 1 or signs an agent, his college career will come to an end.
Jones was the top assist man for the Wolverines all season, averaging 4.6 dimes per contest. He also ranked third on the team in scoring with 10.3 points per game while playing more than 29 minutes.
In his final game at Michigan, Jones scored 7 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists in a Sweet 16 loss to Villanova. He missed most of the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, dealing with concussion protocol in the Round of 64 vs. Colorado State and didn’t return after halftime against Tennessee because of “illness.”
Jones played in 114 career games at the college level at Coastal Carolina and Michigan, making 110 starts. He ends by averaging 15.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game over four years.
