The in-state rivalry between Michigan State and Michigan has an added element. For the first time ever, the two teams will kickoff under the lights.
On Monday, both schools announced that the battle between the Spartans and Wolverines on Saturday, Oct. 7 is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and will air on ABC. While past matchups have trickled into the evening hours, this will be the first night game kickoff between the two programs.

Michigan currently sits at 4-0 and enters the bye week after defeating Purdue 28-10. Michigan State is coming off a 38-18 loss to Notre Dame. The Spartans host Iowa in their B1G opener on Saturday.
The Wolverines lead the all-time series 36-26-2 but the Spartans have dominated the head-to-head in recent years. Michigan State has won seven of the last nine meetings, but Michigan won last year’s matchup 32-23 in East Lansing.
Jim Harbaugh is 1-1 in the series.
