Michigan released additional tickets for sale Friday for its rivalry showdown against Michigan State on Nov. 16 after the Spartans returned some of their allotment of seats according to MLive.com.

It’s unclear how many tickets were returned, and a Michigan spokesperson said it’s not unusual for a visiting opponent to return unpurchased tickets, but clearly, there won’t be as much green in the Big House on Nov. 16 as the Spartans originally hoped.

Michigan and Michigan State will square off in their 112th all-time meeting in two weeks. The Wolverines own a 70-36-5 edge in the series.

But Michigan State has been much more competitive in the series lately, having won eight of the last 11 meetings against Michigan. In the Spartans’ last trip to Ann Arbor in 2017, Michigan State won, 14-10.

Michigan won last year, though, in East Lansing, 21-7.
