The Omicron variant of Covid-19 is starting to gain ground in the United States as the College Football Playoff approaches.

Because of this, teams are permitted to arrive within 48 hours of kickoff. All interviews with media will also be virtual. Despite the change, Michigan plans to move ahead as planned.

A Michigan spokesperson stated that the Wolverines are going to arrive at the date they were scheduled for according to Angelique Chengelis of The Detroit News on Wednesday.

If everything goes as planned, Michigan and Georgia will meet in the Capital One Orange Bowl on New Year’s Eve. Alabama, Georgia, and Cincinnati haven’t made a statement on whether or not they’ll be changing their travel plans at the moment.

You can watch No. 2 Michigan and No. 3 Georgia on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. ET.
