With just a few days left until Michigan takes on South Carolina in the Outback Bowl, the Wolverines are starting to get locked in to their New Year’s Day matchup.

But on Friday, the Maize and Blue stepped away from the practice field for a few hours and took a visit to the Tampa General Hospital to meet with some big football fans. They also had some surprises for some of the patients.

Players handed out Maize and Blue gear throughout their visit, ensuring they’d have plenty of fans supporting them on Monday afternoon. Michigan’s official Twitter account captured some moments from the day.

The Tampa General Hospital serves as the primary teaching hospital of the University of South Florida Health.

It was a special day for the Wolverines and for the patients who got to meet some of the nation’s best college football players. And don’t forget about the free swag, too.

Michigan and South Carolina will battle in the Outback Bowl on Monday.
