Michigan won’t host recruits for Week 1 game against ECU, per report

Michigan will be without Jim Harbaugh for its first three regular season games, starting with Saturday’s contest against ECU at the Big House.
That, of course, is stemming from an NCAA investigation during which Harbaugh was determined to have misled officials. He was originally set to serve a four-game suspension but will sit out for three games instead. Offensive coordinator Jesse Minter will be acting head coach during Harbaugh’s absence against the Pirates.
The Harbaugh suspension will have a bit of a deeper effect. The Wolverines won’t host recruits on Saturday, according to On3’s EJ Holland. “Multiple prospects” told Holland “that they were encouraged to cancel their plans” for the day, he tweeted on Monday evening.
“From what we have been able to gather, Michigan is preparing to play the game with no recruits in the stands,” Holland wrote. “It is believed that Michigan is self-imposing a visit ban for the weekend stemming from the suspension of…Harbaugh.”
There’s no word yet on whether this will be repeated for UNLV on Sept. 9 or Bowling Green on Sept. 16.
Kickoff from Michigan Stadium between the Wolverines and Pirates is set for noon ET and is a streaming-only game on Peacock.
