No. 2 Michigan avenged its recent demons when they defeated Ohio State for the first time in a decade last weekend. However, now that the hurdle has been crossed, there’s the next challenge at hand: winning the B1G.

The B1G East champion Wolverines will square with B1G West champion Iowa in the conference title game on Dec. 4.

During the In The Trenches Podcast, Michigan linebacker Josh Roberts explained to Jon Jansen that while it was thrilling to top the Buckeyes, they’re now entrenched with the task at hand.

“That page is gonna get turned. We’ve got bigger and better things in front of us and it’s just exciting to be in the position that we’re in because of the work that our team put in,” Roberts said. “It’s a blessing. That page is turned. We’re ready to rock. It’s bigger and better things right in front of us, everything right in front of us. It’s just time to go get it.”

Michigan defeated then-No. 2 Ohio State 42-27 for its fourth consecutive victory. No. 13 Iowa is coming off a 28-21 victory at Nebraska for its fourth win in a row.

The last B1G title for Michigan and Iowa is when they claimed a share in 2004. Michigan leads the all-time series 42-15-4 and won the last meeting in 2019 vs. Iowa.
