Michigan's Karan Higdon attempts to explain 'phantom' holding call
It was one of the weirdest calls we’ve ever seen in college football. A holding penalty on a player who was actually tackled.
But that’s what happened to Michigan’s Karan Higdon during Saturday’s game against Northwestern. The running back took a fake hand off and ran up the gut of the Wildcats defense. He was tackled by a defender.
And, somehow, was called for a hold.

Yeah, really bizarre.
On Monday, Michigan players met with the media to talk about last week’s win and this Saturday’s matchup against Maryland. But reporters had one main question for Higdon. And it was about the holding call.
“It’s just one of those things that, I can’t say it happens, but. I have no explanation for it,” Higdon said while laughing. “I’ve seen it a lot this week. I don’t know how that happens.
Don’t worry, Karan. Neither do we.
Below is the video of Higdon providing his thoughts on the call.
