Michigan took center stage Friday night to kick off the NFL Draft broadcast in Detroit!

Ahead of the Day 2 action, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell held a brief presentation with youth football players as a way to honor the past, present and future of football. He also declared the NFL Draft to be a celebration of all levels of football, including the college ranks.

That led to Goodell introducing and honoring Michigan’s national championship team. A video of JJ McCarthy, a fresh member of the Minnesota Vikings, acknowledged the crowd before members of the Wolverines and new head coach Sherrone Moore flooded the stage.

Even without McCarthy and Jim Harbaugh physically in attendance, it was a cool moment for the Wolverines to be front and center at the NFL Draft in Detroit. Check it out:

This weekend in Detroit has started with a bang with huge crowds flooding the NFL Draft stage for Thursday and Friday’s coverage. Adding a touch of the Wolverines is sure to excite the home fans, and a number of players are still hoping to hear their name called over the weekend.

Michigan set the NFL Combine record for players in attendance, and the Wolverines are hoping to make a run at the record for total number of players selected in a single NFL Draft.
