Michigan fought off 20 programs for its latest addition to the 2022 recruiting class.

On Tuesday, the Wolverines received a verbal pledge from 3-star tight end Marlin Klein, a native of Rabun Gap, GA. The 6-foot-6, 215-pound Klein held offers from 21 programs, including Michigan.

Klein made his announcement with a post on Twitter.

“I am excited and honored to proudly announce that I have committed to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Michigan,” he wrote. “Go Blue!”

According to 247Sports, Klein ranks as the No. 18 tight end in the 2022 class and is the No. 30 prospect out of Georgia. Overall, he comes in at No. 371 among all players in the cycle.

Klein is the third player to join Michigan’s 2022 recruiting class. All three are ranked inside the top 400.

Several Power 5 programs showed interest in the tight end on the recruiting front. In addition to Michigan, Klein received offers from Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Michigan State, Nebraska, Purdue and TCU.
