Michigan’s 2018 recruiting class took a major hit on Sunday afternoon.

Four star offensive lineman Emil Ekiyor Jr. out of Indianapolis, Indiana announced Sunday that he has flipped from Michigan and, instead, has given his verbal pledge to Alabama.

In his tweet, Ekiyor thanked Harbaugh and the Michigan coaching staff, as well as the fans for their support.

Ekiyor is ranked as the top player from Indiana and is ranked as one of the top offensive lineman of the 2018 class. His .9513 rating (per 247Sports) was the highest of Michigan’s recruiting class.

Overall, Ekiyor was ranked No. 105 by 247Sports.

Ekiyor had 34 total offers, including nine offers from B1G programs. He chose Alabama over other schools such as Ohio State, Michigan State, and his three home state schools, Indiana, Purdue and Notre Dame.

Michigan currently has the 14th ranked 2018 recruiting class, which is also the third-best in the B1G.
