Mike Hart reportedly interviewed for a job opening after Michigan’s win over Purdue in the B1G Championship. It was with a program in the MAC.

Western Michigan fired HC Tim Lester on Nov. 28 after his first losing season. The Broncos finished the season at 5-7 despite wins in their final two games.

The Detroit News’ Tony Paul reported that Hart interviewed for the position after the B1G title game.

Michigan OC Sherrone Moore was someone that the program also wanted to go after, but Moore declined the offer. Hart is the only Michigan assistant to have interviewed for the job so far.

Hart has been with Michigan as its RB coach since last season, coaching the likes of Hassan Haskins, Blake Corum, and Donovan Edwards. If Hart ends up going to Western Michigan it would be his first head coaching role. Hart has only been an assistant up to this point.

Stay tuned for more updates about Hart and the Western Michigan job.
