Mike Sainristil says Cade McNamara has been a leader for the Wolverines since 2020
Mike Sainristil is now a captain for the Wolverines with the veteran named 1 of 5 Michigan captains for the 2022 season on Thursday. Also voted into the group of captains is quarterback Cade McNamara.
According to Sainristil, being recognized for his leadership is nothing new for McNamara. Sainristil said that the QB has been a leader as long as the two have known each other, and he even pointed out that the team has viewed McNamara as Michigan’s guy at QB since he took the lead role in 2020.
During his media appearance, Sainristil also mentioned that McNamara told him Michigan would win a B1G Championship and national title if the two came to Ann Arbor. So far, the duo has accomplished half of that with a shot at a national title in 2022.
Mike Sainristil says that ever since he met Cade McNamara, “he’s been a leader.” Says that since he took over the Rutgers game in 2020, he’s been viewed as the Michigan QB.

We’ll see what the two can produce this season as members of Michigan’s leadership team.
