Moritz Wagner has agreed to a new 2-year, $16 million deal to return to the Orlando Magic, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

In Orlando, Wagner has enjoyed some stability after a rocky start to his NBA career. He also gets to team with his brother, Franz, in the Magic rotation. Wagner averaged 10.5 points and 4.5 rebounds a game last season.

The former Michigan standout spent his first 3 seasons in the NBA with 3 different franchises. Drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft, Wagner spent a year in L.A. before being dealt to Washington as part of the Anthony Davis mega-trade.

He made 45 appearances for the Wizards and averaged 8.7 points, 4.9 boards, and 1.2 assists in 19 minutes a night during his first season with the club. In 2021, he was dealt again to the Boston Celtics in a 3-team deal. Boston waived him a month later, allowing him to sign a new deal with the Magic.

Once he landed in Orlando, Wagner started 10 of his 11 appearances for the Magic during the 2020-21 campaign. He averaged 11 points and 4.9 boards in 26 minutes a night.

He started 18 times for the Magic last season and averaged a career-best 19.5 minutes a game.
