Anthony Campanile has spent the last 13 years in the coaching profession and has seen his fair share of quality defensive players.

Campanile is entering his first season as Michigan’s linebackers coach. At Michigan, there is a ton of talent. At LB, it’s no different.

Khaleke Hudson is entering his third season as Michigan’s starting viper and is, also, a talented football player. On Monday, Campanile spoke at length about Hudson:

“He has so many different facets of his game,” Campanile said. “He is an aggressive, violent pass rusher and productive. In the run game, talk about being a linebacker, he understands and can do all that stuff and excel at it at a high level.

“He can excel in coverage, which is pretty amazing — playing zone, playing man. He has as much of a broad skill set of anybody I’ve been around. He is a special guy in that regard. There are not many guys like him.”

However, that’s not all that Campanile said about the senior:

“I don’t know if I have ever been around somebody that practices that hard all the time,” Campanile said. “That is about the best compliment I could give as a coach. You can turn on that tape and that guy is running. There is no off switch. He has a motor that never stops.

“That has been really impressive to me. He is an awesome guy to coach. That sense of urgency, it is palpable, it is visible when you turn on the tape.”

Campanile wasn’t done there. Here he is with more on Hudson:

“He is an exceptional athlete,” Campanile said. “He is a different kind of guy. I have coached a lot of really good football players, guys I have a high opinion of, and he would be certainly near the top of that. And I am talking about guys who have continued to play after college.”

OK, that’s all from Campanile.

Over the last two seasons at Michigan, Hudson has racked up 116 tackles, 19 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks to go along with 2 INTs.
