The feud between Paul Finebaum and Michigan continues. Well, it’s not so much a feud as much as the college football analyst and radio host bashing Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines nearly every chance he gets.

But Michigan fans usually fire back.

Supporters of the Maize and Blue will have some more words for Finebaum after his latest comments, this time ripping Michigan for its performance against Northwestern on Saturday. While joining ESPN’s First Take on Wednesday, he was asked who he believed could potentially be fired this season.

Spoiler alert: Finebaum went with Harbaugh.

“I think it’s probably Harbaugh who (hasn’t met expectations),” Finebaum said. “I was flying up to Connecticut on Saturday and the only game that was on was Michigan-Northwestern. I watched the last quarter of that game. It was one of the worst football games I have ever seen.

“There’s not much else to do on a plane, but it was unwatchable. Jim Harbaugh just can not develop an offense. Having said that, he’s probably going to end up with a pretty good record this year.”

Finebaum’s criticism of Saturday’s game in Evanston is fair. Neither the Wolverines or the Wildcats could get much going offensively and it was a pretty ugly contest from start to finish. But to include Harbaugh as someone on the verge of being fired? That feels like a reach.

The SEC Network host and Harbaugh have had their back-and-forth in the past. Finebaum continues to harp on the Michigan head coach and his “lack of success.”
