Paul Finebaum slams Jim Harbaugh: Urban Meyer owns this guy
Paul Finebaum continues to throw punches at Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh.
It’s nothing really all that new, as the two personalities don’t really care for one another. Finebaum has continually bashed Harbaugh since he took over the job at Michigan in 2015, calling him overrated on multiple occasions. Harbaugh refers to the college football radio host as “Pete” and considers him the “water-carrier” of the SEC.
But on Tuesday, Finebaum started throwing haymakers.
During his appearance on ESPN’s First Take, Finebaum roasted Harbaugh for losing to Michigan State in Ann Arbor and pointed to the Wolverines’ struggles offensively as a huge sign of weakness.
“Nobody wins the offseason, nobody’s the champion of April more than Jim Harbaugh with the IMG Academy and going to see the Pope,” Finebaum said. “Good for him. That’s great. You can win the offseason, but you have to win during the season and he has not. He has choked away opportunity after opportunity.”
After losing to the Spartans, Harbaugh is now 1-4 against his rivals. And now, the schedule looks even ore difficult with Penn State, Wisconsin and Ohio State still left on the slate.
That’s when Finebaum really went for the knockout blow.
“I don’t think he’s going to beat Ohio State, Urban Meyer owns this guy,” he said. “So if he loses this year, he has to go back to Columbus next year. He’s catching heat now, but wait until the rest of the season.”
Yeah, those are fighting words for anyone in Michigan.
Harbaugh usually doesn’t let these things go. He’ll either be asked about those comments or respond on Twitter.
We can certainly look forward to what he’ll say in response to his old friend Pete.
