Blake Corum and Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker were regarded as the biggest snubs of this year’s race for the Heisman Trophy.

Corum is the only non-quarterback that really ever had a shot at winning the award, and he was as strong a candidate as any. Corum rushed for 1,463 yards and 18 touchdowns, also catching 1 pass for a touchdown.

He also, according to PFF, had the highest grade among any player in the nation, regardless of position. Here’s a excerpt from PFF:

“He’s been the best player in college football this season, and it’s not particularly close. Corum’s 95.9 grade isn’t only the highest among all players in the country, it’s one of the best we’ve ever seen from a Power Five player.”

Corum, sadly, had to have season-ending knee surgery after a rough fall against Illinois a few weeks ago. He tried to play in the final game of the regular season against Ohio State, but had trouble making the moves he normally could make.

That’s a huge loss for the Wolverines moving into the CFP, but it’s next man up for Donovan Edwards, who has been incredible in his own right this year.
