Everything about Donovan Peoples-Jones screams Michigan. The former five-star receiver is a native of Detroit and he played three seasons with the Wolverines before declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft. The next logical step for the wide receiver would be to play for his hometown team, right?

Peoples-Jones isn’t shying away from questions about potentially playing for the Detroit Lions, a team he grew up watching and loving. The former Michigan wide receiver has some hopes that putting on the silver and blue uniform will become a reality in the near future.

“The Lions, growing up there, going to Michigan, maybe if I went to Detroit, that would mean everything,” Peoples-Jones said at the NFL Scouting Combine, according to The Detroit News. “I love the Lions, I love everything about the Lions.”

Obviously, playing anywhere in the NFL would be a dream come true, but putting on a Lions jersey would mean a little more to Peoples-Jones.

Peoples-Jones opted to forgo his final season at Michigan and pursue a career in the NFL. He left Ann Arbor after totaling 438 yards and six touchdowns on 34 catches last season. The Wolverines finished the year with a 9-4 record.

This week, 11 Wolverines made the trip to Indianapolis for the NFL Scouting Combine.
