Michigan’s offensive line has taken a significant hit.

On Thursday, William Burchfield of 97.1 The Ticket reported that Wolverines offensive tackle Andrew Stueber has suffered a leg injury and will be out indefinitely. The severity and the nature of the injury were still unknown at the time of the report.

Stueber had been battling with Jalen Mayfield for the starting job at right tackle. There was a good chance that Stueber would’ve won the job. At the very least, he would’ve seen a significant number of snaps along the offensive line this fall.

Last season, Stueber appeared in all 13 games for the Wolverines and made two starts at right tackle. He’s also played on special teams. He played in one game in his freshman season in 2017.

Michigan’s offensive line is expected to be one of the strong points of the team this year. The Wolverines return depth and talent along the front line that should open up things on the ground, as well as in the air.

That depth took a big shot on Thursday, though.
