When he accepted the job with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Urban Meyer said he had no plans to deplete Ryan Day’s staff at Ohio State. He is willing to poach some staffers from Michigan, though.
According to Jason La Canfora of 105.7 The Fan in Baltimore, Michigan linebackers coach Brain Jean-Mary is interviewing for a job on Meyer’s staff in Jacksonville. The report indicates that Jean-Mary would be the LB coach for the Jaguars, but that title is already held by former Texas and USF head coach Charlie Strong.
Though head coach Jim Harbaugh made some staff changes during the offseason, Jean-Mary was one of the assistants who was going to be retained for the 2021 season. The 2020 campaign was Jean-Mary’s first year in Ann Arbor.
Michigan LB coach Brian Jean-Mary is interviewing with Jacksonville tomorrow for same position. Worked with Charlie strong at Texas.

Interviewing Jean-Mary would add some cohesiveness to the Jacksonville staff, as he’s worked with Strong for a good portion of the last decade. Jean-Mary followed Strong to Louisville (2010-13), Texas (2014-16) and USF (2017-19).
Jean-Mary coached the linebackers at all three stops and held various titles like recruiting coordinator, assistant head coach and defensive coordinator over the last 10 years.
Michigan finished the 2020 season with a 2-4 record and is looking to recover with a big year next fall. But Harbaugh may have to find a new staff member in the near future.
