A Michigan defensive lineman is looking for opportunities outside of Ann Arbor.

Friday, 247Sports reported that Ron Johnson has entered the transfer portal and is searching for a new program. He will become the 12th player to leave the program this offseason when including early NFL Draft entrees, dismissals and transfers.

Johnson, a Camden, New Jersey native, is a former four-star prospect but has not made much of an impact with the Wolverines. He is a recent graduate at Michigan, meaning he would be immediately eligible for competition in 2019 and would have two years of eligibility remaining.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound defensive end was a member of Michigan’s 2016 recruiting class. He has frequently been named the Scout Team Player of the Week by the Wolverines, but has made just one appearance in three seasons in Ann Arbor.

No mention of a potential landing spot was mentioned.
