Report: Michigan DL hits NCAA portal as graduate transfer
A Michigan fifth-year defensive lineman has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from Angelique Chengelis of The Detroit News.
Wednesday afternoon, Chengelis reported that fifth-year senior Phillip Paea has entered the portal as a graduate transfer. The defensive lineman was a member of Michigan’s 2017 recruiting class and redshirted his first season in Ann Arbor. With the NCAA also granting all fall student-athletes an additional year of eligibility, he’ll still have two years left to use at the college level.

Paea did not see much action during his time with the Wolverines. Over his four seasons with the program, Paea appeared in three total games, playing in two during the shortened 2020 campaign.
Michigan finished with a 2-4 record.
A 6-foot-4, 300-pound Berrien Springs, Michigan native, Paea did not record any statistics while in Ann Arbor but he was an Academic All-B1G honoree after the 2019 season.
