Report: Opponent, date for Michigan basketball's season opener revealed
Mark your calendars, Michigan basketball fans. The date and opponent for the Wolverines’ season opener to the 2020-21 season has been announced.
Tuesday afternoon, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reported that the Michigan basketball season will start on Tuesday, Nov. 10, when the Wolverines host Georgia State in Ann Arbor. A tip-off time was not announced at the time of the report.

The 2020-21 season will mark the second year of the Juwan Howard in Ann Arbor.
Last year, Michigan finished the season with a 19-12 record and was 10-10 in B1G play. The Wolverines were poised to make an appearance in the NCAA Tournament until the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to sportsreference.com, this will be the first meeting on the court between Michigan and Georgia State.
