Roman Wilson says Wolverines out to show 2021 wasn’t a fluke, ‘don’t want to be what old Michigan was'
Michigan WR Roman Wilson says the Wolverines are out to show that 2021 wasn’t a fluke.
According to Wilson, it’s a new season with new standards for Michigan. The 2022 squad wants to show it’s not “old Michigan.”
Asked Roman Wilson about McNamara's comment a few weeks ago about showing last year wasn't a fluke: "We want to come for it all. We don’t want to be what old Michigan was. We want to set a new standard for us."

Wilson was a standout WR for the Wolverines in 2021, and had several key plays that were integral to the Wolverines’ success. Wilson collected five passes for 71 yards in a loss to Michigan State, 81 yards against Wisconsin, and 55 yards and a touchdown setup against Ohio State.
Wilson will look to improve on his 25 receptions, 420 yards, and three touchdowns from 2021. His speed makes him a threat for deep throws, something that may make him stand out from the rest of the 6-players deep WR room. With Michigan’s attention focused more on the throw, it’s possible Wolverine fans will see more of Wilson on the field this fall.
Michigan will open the season hosting Western Michigan University on Friday, Sept. 2.
