A Michigan linebacker is heading to Tennessee, becoming the second former Wolverine to leave Ann Arbor for Rocky Top this offseason.

Thursday, William Mohan announced on Twitter that he has committed to Tennessee to continue his college football career. He was a freshman with the Wolverines during the 2020 season. He joins former UM quarterback Joe Milton in Knoxville.

“Starting over a new chapter in life,” Mohan wrote on Twitter. “I want to thank everyone who helped me throughout this process. Thank you God & GO VOLS.”

Mohan will rejoin former Michigan assistant coach Brian Jean-Mary, who joined Josh Heupel’s staff after spending last season with the Wolverines.

As a high school recruit, Mohan was a 3-star player who ranked as a Top 500 overall prospect in the class. The Brooklyn native was considered to be the No. 3 player from New York.

This season will mark the first for Heupel as the head coach of the Volunteers. Mohan will still have four years of eligibility to use at Tennessee.
