Semaj Morgan secures first career TD as Michigan takes lead over Rutgers
Semaj Morgan arrived at Michigan as an in-state piece of the 2023 recruiting class. While he was not the most heralded receiver in the cycle, he’s on the field and making plays for the Wolverines as a true freshman.
In the Week 4 game against Rutgers, Morgan came up with his first career touchdown in go-ahead fashion. With the Wolverines and Scarlet Knights all knotted up at 7-all, Morgan’s score gave Michigan the 14-7 halftime lead.
Adding to the play, the score came on a 3rd-and-7 with Michigan needing a spark. JJ McCarthy put up a beautiful back-shoulder throw and Morgan was able to work back through pass interference to make the grab.
