On Tuesday, Field Yates — an NFL Insider at ESPN — sent out a tweet listing the Class of 2021 free agent running backs that will be available.

It was quite the impressive list, including guys like Derrick Henry, Dalvin Cook, Alvin Kamara, Aaron Jones, Joe Mixon and more. Quote-tweeting Yates’ list was Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy.

Nagy quoted the tweet by saying that the Class of 2021 NFL Draft prospects at the RB position is also an impressive list:

Among Nagy’s list is Chris Evans, a senior back at Michigan. So far during his career as a member of the Wolverines, Evans has rushed for 1,722 yards and 14 touchdowns while also accounting for 293 yards and two touchdowns through the air.

Evans has talent, but if given the bulk of the carries in Ann Arbor, can he show that he is one of the top backs in the country?

Nagy seems to believe so.

However, Evans hasn’t taken a snap at Michigan since Dec. 29, 2018 due to a season-long suspension in 2019 because of academic reasons. The path to 200-plus carries isn’t a simple one.

Challenging Evans in Michigan’s backfield this upcoming season should be other talented ball-carriers such as Zach Charbonnet, Hassan Haskins and Christian Turner, among others.
