Michigan blasted Michigan State on Saturday. The Wolverines won 44-10 and the 34-point differential was the largest in Dantonio’s career against his in-state rival.

Since Shea Patterson came from Ole Miss, Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines are 2-0 against Dantonio’s Spartans. Not too shabby.

After the game, Patterson — a senior — talked about how he wishes he could have had two more shots at playing Michigan State:

This is certainly understandable for Patterson. It’s always fun to win. It’s even more fun to win against your rival.

And, even better, it’s fun to demolish your rival. Michigan not only moved to 8-2 overall with its win Saturday, but it also brought Michigan State down to 4-6. If the Spartans don’t go 2-0 in their final two games, they won’t make a bowl game.

Even better, if you’re Patterson and the Wolverines.
