Shea Patterson has been named one of five finalists for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. The list was released Thursday morning.
The Michigan quarterback has been dynamic this season, throwing for over 1,900 yards with 17 touchdowns and three interceptions. He’s also added two rushing touchdowns this season.
Patterson arrived in Ann Arbor after transferring from Ole Miss. Aside from a sluggish start in the season opener against Notre Dame, the former 5-star prospect has lived up to expectations. He’s got the Wolverines on the cusp of a B1G title and currently ranked No. 4 in the College Football Playoff rankings.
Along with Patterson, the other candidates for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award are: Will Grier (West Virginia); Drew Lock (Missouri); Gardner Minshew II (Washington State); and McKenzie Milton (UCF).
Last year’s winner was Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph.
